Job Purpose
The General Procurement Officer is responsible for managing and organizing the company's purchasing process. This includes acquiring materials, services, and equipment of the best quality, at the best price, and within required timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end procurement processes (sourcing, bidding, contracting, delivery)
Ensure compliance with UAE procurement laws and company policies
Develop and manage multiple sourcing strategies
Prepare and execute tenders, RFQs, and other procurement documentation
Collaborate with internal departments to forecast procurement needs
Maintain and grow supplier and vendor relationships
Evaluate supplier performance and manage risk
Drive cost-saving initiatives and procurement process improvements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
5–9 years of relevant procurement experience, ideally in construction or heavy machinery
Strong knowledge of UAE procurement regulations and tender procedures
Proven experience in vendor negotiation and contract management
Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Procurement certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM)
Experience in short-term contract or project-based procurement roles
