Position Overview

The Design Lead will be responsible for managing the creative and technical design process for interior fit-out projects from concept to completion. This role requires close coordination with clients, project managers, and site teams to ensure all designs meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements while staying on budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership

1. Lead the design development for commercial, retail, hospitality, and residential fit-out projects.
2. Translate client briefs into innovative, functional, and cost-effective design solutions.
3. Oversee the preparation of concept designs, mood boards, 3D visualizations, and detailed drawings.
4. Establish and maintain design standards and guidelines.

Project Coordination

1. Work closely with project managers, estimators, and site teams to ensure design feasibility.
2. Integrate MEP, joinery, and finishing details into the overall design.
3. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants for material selections and technical inputs.
4. Ensure design changes are tracked, documented, and approved.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

1. Conduct design presentations and workshops to secure client approvals.
2. Maintain clear communication channels with clients throughout the design process.
3. Provide design-related support during construction, including site visits and inspections.

Quality & Compliance

1. Ensure all designs comply with local authority regulations, building codes, and health & safety requirements.
2. Review and approve shop drawings, samples, and mock-ups.
3. Monitor execution on-site to maintain design integrity.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in interior design, with at least 3 years in fit-out projects.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite.
4. Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and fit-out construction methods.
5. Excellent communication, presentation, and client-handling skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
