Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – ServiceNow Administrator with strong Linux expertise to manage, and support a self-hosted ServiceNow environment. The role focuses on platform administration, upgrades, database management, performance tuning, and basic ServiceNow configuration.
Key Responsibilities
· Install and configure ServiceNow on Linux VMs using deployment guides
· Administer self-hosted ServiceNow instances including upgrades and cloning using documentation
· Manage Linux servers, services, and OS-level tuning
· Install, configure, and manage MariaDB and PostgreSQL databases
· Perform regular database backups and restores
· Fine-tune ServiceNow performance per best practices
· Work with OCI cloud infrastructure, load balancers, WAFs, and SSL certificates
· Support DR, failover, and failback processes
· Experience in production support
· Knowledge of Incident management to handle production incidents and general ITSM process knowledge
· Perform ServiceNow admin tasks: users, groups, reports, catalogs, forms, update sets
· Familiar with core integrations like SSO, AD and Email and deep understanding of API based integration
· Plan, deploy, and optimize ServiceNow Discovery: schedules, credentials, probes/sensors, patterns; triage Discovery errors and data quality issues.
· Configure, and enhance Incident, Change, Problem, Request processes—assignment models, SLAs/OLAs, escalations, notifications, approvals, CAB workflows, and risk assessment.
· Build/maintain process logic via business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Flow Designer/workflows; enforce best practices and instance hygiene (update sets, naming, cloning).
· Working and hands on experience on Discovery
· Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, especially in production environments
· Ability to document processes, configurations, and discovery designs
· Good communication skills to work with process owners, platform teams, and stakeholders
· Willingness to support on‑call and operational support activities when required
