We are seeking an experienced VP / Head MLRO to lead our AML & Sanctions function. Based in the UAE, this role will ensure compliance with local and international regulations, manage the submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), oversee the AML framework, and serve as the primary liaison with regulators.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the registered MLRO, responsible for SAR submissions and regulatory reporting.
Lead the design and execution of the firm’s AML and Sanctions compliance program.
Oversee transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, KYC/CDD/EDD processes, and internal investigations.
Advise senior management on financial crime risks, controls, and compliance issues.
Manage internal and external regulatory audits, inspections, and examinations.
Ensure compliance with FATF, OFAC, UN, EU, and local regulatory sanctions regimes.
Provide training and awareness programs for AML and Sanctions.
Liaise with regulators, law enforcement, and industry bodies on AML matters.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 10+ years in compliance, AML, or financial crime, with 5+ years in a leadership or MLRO capacity.
Strong knowledge of global AML and Sanctions laws, including local regulations (e.g., FCA, MAS, HKMA, etc.).
Experience with AML systems (e.g., Actimize, SAS, FICO, etc.) and investigative tools.
Certified AML credentials preferred (e.g., CAMS, ICA Diploma).
Excellent leadership, risk judgment, and communication skills.
