We are looking for an experienced Kong Developer cum Administrator to design, develop, and implement API solutions using Kong API Gateway. You’ll work closely with engineers and product managers to ensure our APIs are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT (or equivalent)

Proven experience as a Kong Developer cum Administrator

Strong understanding of API design (REST, OpenAPI) and microservices

Proficiency in Lua, Python, scripting, and DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD)

Experience with Kubernetes & Kong Ingress

Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, JMeter, Insomnia)

Strong problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration skills

Kong certification or equivalent (a plus!)

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and configure Kong entities (services, routes, plugins, caching, API management, etc.)

Develop custom Lua scripts and Kong plugins for advanced functionality

Integrate Kong with existing APIs, backend systems, and microservices

Manage API security (authentication, authorization, RBAC, rate limiting, OAuth, OIDC)

Implement traffic management (load balancing, caching, request/response transformations)

Monitor, debug, and optimize Kong performance

Automate configurations within a CI/CD pipeline

Maintain API documentation via Kong Developer Portal

Stay current with Kong features, cloud-native API management, and best practices
