Job Summary:
Responsible for leading and managing the review of high-risk customer account openings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves overseeing detailed investigations, risk assessments, and decision-making processes for clients flagged as high-risk due to geography, industry, ownership structure, or transaction profile. The manager will act as a subject matter expert in EDD, providing guidance to analysts, engaging with senior stakeholders, and ensuring robust documentation and audit readiness.
Requirements:
Lead and oversee EDD reviews for high-risk account openings, including PEPs, complex corporate structures, correspondent banking, and high-risk jurisdictions.
Assess customer risk profiles using internal and external data sources, adverse media, and intelligence tools. Recommend account approval, rejection, or escalation.
Ensure EDD processes comply with AML, CTF, sanctions, and KYC regulations. Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory expectations.
Collaborate with front office, onboarding teams, compliance advisory, and senior management to ensure effective handling of high-risk clients.
Manage and mentor a team of EDD analysts, ensuring high-quality reviews and continuous professional development.
Drive enhancements in EDD processes, including automation, workflow improvements, and use of advanced screening tools.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors in any relevant stream.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant industry.
Preferred ACAMS certification.
