Key Responsibilities

1. Database Administration

2. Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server & PostgreSQL databases. Manage full DB lifecycle: provisioning → tuning → maintenance → decommissioning

3. High Availability, Replication & DR

4. SQL Server: AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Replication

5. PostgreSQL: Streaming & Logical Replication

6. Implement, maintain, and test DR & failover processes. Upgrades, Patching & Security

7. Perform DB upgrades, migrations, and patching

8. Ensure security, compliance, and audit standards

9. Performance & Optimization

10. Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, slow queries, and bottlenecks. Optimize queries, indexes, memory, and storage

11. Use tools like Query Analyzer, pgAdmin, and monitoring solutions. Backup & Recovery

12. Manage backup strategies (SQL native backups, pgBackRest, Barman, etc.)

13. Validate restore and recovery procedures

14. Collaboration & Support - Partner with dev and tech teams on deployments and releases

15. Support ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Release Management)

Cloud Exposure : Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud, GCP Cloud SQL

Required Skills

1. 7-10 years of hands-on DBA experience (SQL Server & PostgreSQL)

2. Strong HA/DR, replication, and backup & recovery expertise

3. Solid Linux & Windows server knowledge

4. Proven performance tuning experience

5. Cloud database exposure

6. Excellent troubleshooting & communication skills
