Key Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and performant backend systems and APIs.
2. Architect solutions with a focus on security, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Frontend, DevOps, and QA to deliver high-impact features.
4. Own the end-to-end development lifecycle of backend features — from concept to deployment and monitoring.
5. Contribute to and uphold best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
6. Review code, mentor team members, and help shape engineering culture.
7. Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools when appropriate.
8. Help troubleshoot production issues and improve system observability and resilience.

Skills & Attributes

Required

1. 5+ years of professional experience as a backend or full-stack engineer.
2. Strong understanding of core software engineering principles: system design, algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
3. Experience designing and building APIs (RESTful, GraphQL, etc.) and backend services at scale.
4. Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases and experience with schema design,

1. Experience with testing strategies (unit, integration, performance) and CI/CD practices.
2. Proficient in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code — regardless of language.
3. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
4. Comfortable working in an agile, collaborative, and iterative environment.
5. Quick learner with a flexible mindset and the ability to adapt to new tools, languages, or paradigms.

Nice To Have

1. Experience with multiple programming languages and paradigms (e.g., OOP, functional).
2. Familiarity with cloud-native architecture, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code.
3. Experience in observability, monitoring, and logging best practices.
4. Exposure to event-driven systems or streaming platforms.
5. Mentorship or technical leadership experience is a plus.
